SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR/IN AND OUTPATIENT ADMISSIONS CLERK/PATIENT FINANCIAL SERVICES
Main Duties Include: processing in- and outpatient registrations, answering the switchboard, miscellaneous clerical duties in the Patient Access Department. Responding to patient and payor inquiries regarding billing, processing payments from patients and insurers, and assisting Patient Financial Services staff.
Qualifications: Must be a High School graduate with exceptional customer service skills. Written and verbal ability to communicate effectively with patients, doctors and co-workers. Self-starter with the ability to work independently and to evaluate information and exercise good judgment. Previous office experience, aptitude with numbers, and calculator skills required. Previous switchboard experience preferred. Previous education or experience in medical billing and reimbursement, medical terminology, medical coding, and compliance preferred.
