Cardiac Rehabilitation is a professionally supervised program to help people recover from heart attacks, heart surgery and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures such as stenting and angioplasty. Our Cardiac Rehab program provides individualized treatment plans, as well as education and counseling services to help heart patients increase physical fitness, reduce cardiac symptoms, improve health and reduce the risk of future heart problems, including heart attack.
Phase II of Cardiac Rehab is a professionally supervised out-patient program designed for patients that are not hospitalized but who would benefit from supervised exercise sessions three times per week for 12 – 36 sessions. Our Cardiac Registered Nurse, Cheryl Carrell, provides individual and personalized treatment plans; including evaluation and instruction on physical activity, nutrition, heart and lung disease, emotional health, medications and stress management. Patient goals may include: improve levels of fitness, decrease angina symptoms, improve knowledge and symptom management, increase understanding of Cardiovascular disease, assist with risk modification, help individuals return to previous activities, provide support and reduce likelihood of hospitalization.
Phase III is for individuals who have completed Phase II, as well as individuals who are interested in exercising where a nurse is present or improving or maintaining a level of fitness in a group setting. Blood pressure and pulse are monitored by our Cardiac Registered Nurse. Participants can continue with this maintenance exercise program as long as they want or deem necessary.
