Millinocket Regional Hospital has an immediate opening for a full time Accounts Payable Clerk in our Accounting/Fiscal Services Department.

Qualifications:  High School diploma, associate degree preferred. Must have a minimum of two-three years of work experience in accounting with accounts payable experience or bookkeeping; essential qualifications include strong communication skills, well -organized work habits, aptitude for working with numbers, and the ability to work well in teams or independently. The successful candidate must have record maintaining skills and the ability to effectively retain and retrieve documents, including invoices, contractual commitment documentation, and service contracts. Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Keyboarding and 10-key proficiency, basic computer skills, attention to detail, and maintaining confidentiality are crucial.

Main FunctionProcess invoices daily, including verifying the accuracy of invoices and supporting data, and seek approval for invoices outside the purchase order system. Prepare a weekly disbursement recommendation list for the CFO and process and disburse checks once approved. Check printing and disbursement documentation should be filed with the appropriate vendor. On an ongoing basis, contracts should be reviewed and scanned to the intranet to be used to compare with amounts invoiced. Monthly the A/P Clerk will work with the accountant on A/P accruals and make the accountant aware of any new fixed assets or prepaid invoices. The A/P clerk collects W-9s before any funds get disbursed to individuals for contracted services, and 1099’s will be processed annually. The accounts payable clerk will also be crossed trained for payroll.

GENERAL INFORMATION:  Full Time Position, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. 8:00am to 4:30pm.
