INFECTION CONTROL NURSE/EMPLOYEE HEALTH COORDINATOR/EMERGENCY PREPARDNESS COORDINATOR
Millinocket Regional Hospital has an immediate opening for a FULL TIME INFECTION CONTROL NURSE/EMPLOYEE HEALTH COORDINATOR/EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COORDINATOR.
Qualifications: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current Maine Registered Nurse license. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of three years current nursing experience in a hospital setting. Must be able to function independently. Able to problem solve and develop daily work assignment based upon responsibilities and priorities. Must be willing and able to provide education to all staff relating to infection control and emergency preparedness. Computer and typing skills required. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Excel, and other software programs used to develop graphs. Must perform duties and functions in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Millinocket Regional Hospital.
Main Function: Performs surveillance, investigation, and reporting of infections involving patients and employees of the organization. Performs review of employee health issues, including reporting and follow up. Responsible for the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to infection control and employee health issues. Facilitates disaster preparedness practices and updates based upon regulatory requirements. Responsible for providing appropriate educational programs related to infection control, employee health, and emergency preparedness. Manages policies and procedures related to employee health, infection control, and emergency preparedness. External reporting to required agencies is required.
