The Infection Control Department serves all Patient Care and Non Patient Care Services of the hospital, the Medical Staff. The Department of Health, the Community and all patients, their families and visitors. The Infection Control Nurse is available on site 40 hours per week and is available by phone consultation at all other times.
All the work of the department and the infection control committee is driven by our overall goal of the prevention and spread of infection
MRH Infection Control staff assure practice related to Infection Control is within current standards through representation and participation in the State Pine Tree Chapter of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) and the Maine Infection Prevention Collaborative (MIPC) , along with Maine Centers for Disease Control (CDC);
