Qualifications:

  • Current State of Maine License and ARRT certification.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts, build teams, and work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate in high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques used in negotiation as applied to service contracts and equipment purchases.

Millinocket Regional Hospital has an immediate opening for a part-time Clinical Scheduling Assistant in the Oncology and Infusion clinic.

Will have responsibility for supporting efficient workflow and communications for the clinic.  Checking in in patients, obtaining vital signs and patient histories, obtain prior authorization for procedures/medications, process patient charges, place follow-up calls, maintain office/clinic supplies and any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Diagnostic Scheduler

MRH has an immediate opening for a part time Diagnostic Scheduler to work in our Diagnostic Imaging department.

MAIN FUNCTION:  Responsible for ensuring accuracy of information on incoming physician orders and to schedule patients in a timely fashion based on the individual order requirements.  Also responsible for gathering and verifying patient demographic and insurance information for the purpose of pre-registration of scheduled encounters/appointments.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate with ability to communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and hospital employees.  Must excel in guest relations, be conscientious, courteous and a self-starter with ability to analyze and evaluate information and exercise good judgment. Organizational skills, computer skills and multi-tasking a must. Knowledge of order control, medical necessity/ABN, prior authorization requirements, referrals, scheduling and pre-registration, patient preparation preferred.

This is a part time, hourly position.  24 hours per week.  Monday – Friday, varied days and hours.  7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Main Duties:  Processing in- and outpatient registrations, answering the switchboard, miscellaneous clerical duties in the Patient Access Department.  Responding to patient and payor inquiries regarding billing, processing payments from patients and insurers, and assisting Patient Financial Services staff.

Qualifications:  Must be a high school graduate with exceptional customer service skills.  Written and verbal ability to communicate effectively with patients, doctors and co-workers.  Self-starter with the ability to work independently and to evaluate information and exercise good judgment.  Previous office experience, aptitude with numbers, and calculator skills required.  Previous switchboard experience preferred.  Previous education or experience in medical billing and reimbursement, medical terminology, medical coding and compliance preferred.

Part Time Position, 29 hours/week, Tuesday – Thursday evenings 11:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Sunday 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Millinocket Regional Hospital has an immediate opening for a full time Operating Room Manager.

Qualifications:  Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Minimum of three years clinical experience in Perioperative Nursing. Knowledge of Regulatory and Professional Standards in the Perioperative Department.  Must have the ability to function in all aspects of the Operating Room.  Licensure in the State of Maine as a Registered Nurse. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Millinocket Regional Hospital, a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital nestled at the base of Mt. Katahdin and Baxter State Park in Northern Maine has an immediate opening to join a three (3) person CRNA team.  Millinocket Regional Hospital serves as the primary care facility for the communities of Millinocket, East Millinocket, Medway and many surrounding communities.

Qualifications:  Must have a current State of Maine RN license and be certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.  Current BCLS/ACLS/PALS certifications are required.  Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to function and remain calm in stressful and emergent situations. Experience with spinals and epidurals preferred. Opportunity to learn ultrasound guided regional blocks.

Duties:  Administers anesthesia to patients of all ages in the operating room and in other patient care areas according to hospital policies and procedures.

There is no anesthesiologist supervision.  Caseload includes bread and butter cases, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, healthy pediatrics, Pain Management, Ophthalmology, Podiatry and Endoscopy.  We currently employ one full time general surgeons, one full time orthopedic surgeon, one part time urologist, one part time Podiatrist, one contracted Pain Management Physician, and one contracted Ophthalmologist.

This salaried position offers a unique schedule.  Week one:  M-F (no call).  Week two:  M-F with call responsibility Monday until the following Monday morning.  Week three:  Off.

Director of Financial Operations

MRH has an immediate opening for a full time Director of Financial Operations.

MAIN FUNCTION: Direct, plan, and coordinate financial accounting, patient accounting, cost reporting, materials management, grant management, and fundraising activities and functions.  Formulate and administer effective accounting and supply chain practices for the organization.  Develop methods for presenting data, projects, and studies of a financial and cost-based reimbursement nature.  Ensure compliance with regulatory financial reporting requirements.  Design and maintain an organizational and staffing structure to accomplish department goals and objectives effectively.  Provide leadership and oversight of the General Accounting, Reimbursement, Materials Management, Grants, and Fund-Raising departments.  Coordinate grant reporting, maintain any regulatory online portals, including grant drawdowns, and maintain records of revenue and expenditures.  Coordinate cost accounting activities, including data verification, reporting, and end-user support.  Coordinate and prepare for the annual audit, working closely with the audit firm and MRH staff to complete audit requests and work with the adult firm on any single audits that might arise due to federal funding.  Coordinate the annual budgeting process, including working directly with managers and directors to develop budget projections, compiling capital budget requests, entering and analyzing budget data, and tracking and reporting budget variances.  Coordinate the development of Cost Report schedules and assembly of supporting documentation. Complete other accounting tasks and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting is required.  CPA, MBA or master’s degree in accounting preferred.  A minimum of five years of hospital financial management experience in a hospital environment is required. At least three years of accounting experience working in a Critical Access Hospital preferred.  HFMA, MGMA, or other equivalent professional certification preferred.  Effective analytical, communication, and computer skills are required, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel. The candidate must also be able to work well in a team environment, on a tight schedule to meet deadlines, and at a high level with minimal supervision. A thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, intermediate computer skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are also required.  Experience managing payroll, accounts payable, general accounting, and materials management/purchasing is required. Experience working with cost reporting, budgeting, grants, and financial reporting in a Critical Access Hospital environment is strongly preferred.

This is a full time, salaried position.  40 hours per week.  Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
