Department of Quality supports the hospitals mission to provide quality and compassionate care. The Quality Department focuses on Performance Improvement in all areas of the hospital that provide patient care. Performance Improvement requires us to measure important aspects of care and then to take actions to make improvements where improvements are possible. One aspect of care that is measured is patient satisfaction.
MRH Consistently exceeds patient expectations as seen in our participation in HCAHPS surveys; we not only exceed our patient expectations but almost always are in the top percentile(s) in areas measured as compared to other Maine hospitals. Results of these surveys can be found at www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov; the department of Quality is supervised by the VP of Quality and all managers of Clinical and Support Services participate in the program. The Medical Staff are active participants in the program and the MRH Board of Directors is also involved in oversight of this program.
