What You’ll Do:

  • Perform a wide range of orthopedic surgical procedures to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions, including but not limited to:
    • Joint replacements (hip & knee, shoulder if training permits)
    • Fracture repair
    • Arthroscopic surgery
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients, from pre-operative consultations and surgical planning to post-operative follow-up and rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, other physicians (such as primary care providers, physical therapists, and pain management specialists), and healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall growth and development of the orthopedic program at MRH.
  • Be comfortable and confident practicing as the solo orthopedic provider within the hospital.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).
  • Current Maine medical license.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a clinical setting.
  • Excellent surgical skills and experience with a variety of orthopedic procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
  • Passion for providing high-quality patient care in a rural setting.
