The laboratory department of Millinocket Regional Hospital was named the Chapman Laboratory in April of 1995 to honor the memory of Dr. Frank C. Chapman, who was the medical director from 1974 – 1979. Chapman Lab supports clinicians’ decision-making in providing patient care by producing and interpreting diagnostic information from the analysis of patient specimens.

Histology, Cytology, and Flow Cytometry are provided by Dahl-Chase Diagnostic Services. Most referral laboratory work is performed by Quest Diagnostics in Cambridge, Massachusetts. We are linked by courier and computer allowing for quick turnaround times.
Chapman Laboratory averages nearly 64 patients per day and performs testing for MRH patients as well as various physician practices and clinics, Katahdin Health Care, and clients of the Katahdin area home health agencies.
Staff
Chapman Laboratory staff includes Medical Technologists, Clinical Laboratory Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Specimen Coordinators, and Clerks. All personnel have proper degrees / certifications / registrations. Our highly trained Lab Scientists conduct the majority of testing on-site and have 100 years of combined experience.

Hours of Operation:
Laboratory outpatient hours are 7 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, and 8 am to 12 pm on Saturday. Appointments can be made outside these hours as needed.
